PROMYS for Teachers is a six-week summer program that promotes a culture of open-ended exploration and problem solving. The 2014 program will run from Monday, June 30 - Friday, August 8. More information and application forms can be found here.
The first of the monthly Mathematical Practice Seminars (MPS) for the Math for America Boston Fellows. The group will meet the second Wednesday of every month from 4 - 7pm. The first meeting will be held at EDC. The following three meetings will be held at Boston College. More details on meeting locations will be provided as we get closer to the dates.
The second of the monthly Master Teacher Seminars for the BC and BU Math for America Boston Fellows. The group will meet the second Wednesday of every month from 4:30 - 6:30pm.
Mitchell Chester, Commissioner of Elementary and Secondary Education, will be the fist speaker in the 2014 - 2015 seminar series. Dr. Chester will be speaking on Roles for Math Teacher-Leaders. Refreshments will be served at 3:30 and the talk will begin at 4. There will be a teacher panel discussion following the talk.
This is the first of five academic year workshops for the 2014 - 2015 school year. These workshops are designed to help teachers translate the summer experience into fundamental change in their own classrooms.
